DJ Zulu, of world-renowned Barcelona, has been an avid vinyl collector, and ‘crate digger’ for the last 22 years of his life, and according to the man himself, it’s time well-spent.
Zulu knows more than a thing or two in his repertoire. He started his musical voyage playing in clubs and radio shows during the late 90s’ acid jazz, and rare groove era.
After the turn of the millennium, the European Funk scene exploded. And that was precisely where he widened his specialities; as a DJ of soul, and funk, in the European circuit in the early 2000s.
He keeps an ear out to new sounds as well: nu-disco, soulful house, hip-hop, afro-latin beats and other warm electronic sounds; from electro-swing to tropical dance music, are often incorporated into his sets.
His acoustic sensation made it all over Spain, France and Italy, as well as covering several countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
